SWISS

We never thought to go to Switzerland. But in Slovenia one Croatian man picked us up and said he goes all the way to Zurich and we decided to go with him. We spoke some kind of Balkan language, he was swearing a lot and was driving fast. His 13-years old dog Bili was sitting on the front, and the two of us- in the back. He stopped at some nice mountain views, told us stories about Switzerland and at the end invited us to sleep in some small house near Zurich...with no electricity, only water, but still a good shelter after the long drive...

.

I think it is useless to say that everything in Switzerland was perfect- green grass, perfect roads clean nature...so perfect that looks almost unreal. The best thing you can do in Switzerland in the summer is hike some top in the Alps.

So the next morning, after changing 10 cars we reached  Klausenpas in the mountains and found some nice place to camp far from the road. People we asked said that free camping is forbidden in Switzerland, but we had no problems at all and stayed 4 days in the mountains in our tent. - The first two days were rainy, but the last day the sun was with us and we climbed the closest glacier 3200 m. We left our backpacks in the tent and enjoyed a beautiful hike without the load on our backs :) Luckily after 6 hours walking the backpacks were not stolen...it's Switzerland after all...

Switzerland is quite expensive for us...so after we finished our food we decided to go go France. First an 80 years old Swiss drove us slowly back to Zurich. Jazz music and sightseeing in German all the way. The next day we had a long, hungry hitchhiking in Swiss with many international drivers - Albanian, Kurd, Czech woman, Tibetan guy, German, Venezuelan... it looks like there are a lot of foreigners in Switzerland. As a whole the hitch-hiking in Switzerland is perfect (like anything else)... you seldom wait more than 10 minutes, most of the people speak English and are very nice...the traffic is really calm...nobody is in a hurry, nobody is nervous...
